What we Do

The organization was established to create open platforms for sharing knowledge and lessons with those who have an interest in isiZulu literature and writing. It also equips its members with various skills in isiZulu writing. It works with basic education institutions to promote a culture of reading and writing in isiZulu among learners and educators and it does the same in institutions of higher learning.

Umnikelo wethu

Inhlangano yakhelwe ukuvula izithangami ezivulelekile zokwabelana ngolwazi nezifundo kulabo abanentshisekelo ezincwadini nasekubhaleni ngesiZulu. Iphinde ihlomise amalungu ayo ngamakhono ahlukahlukene emibhalweni yesiZulu. Isebenzisana nezikhungo zemfundo eyisisekelo ukukhuthaza isiko lokufunda nokubhala ngesiZulu kubafundi nabafundisi, yenza okufanayo nasezikhungweni zemfundo ephakeme.

 

 

Our History

USiba Writers’ Guild is an organization for writers and lovers of literature in various genres of isiZulu. The organization was founded on 26 May 1984 with the aim of developing writers and promoting the publication and reading of books and other written works in isiZulu. Since its establishment, the organization has produced many respected authors who have made significant contributions to isiZulu literature. Among them we can name its first Chairperson, Canaan Sipho Kazeblon (CSZ) Ntuli, his brother Deuteronomy Bhekinkosi Zeblon (“DBZ”) Ntuli, Lizwi Bonginkosi Zacharia (LBZ) Buthelezi, Ncamisile Marjorie Makhambeni (MaGumede), Otty Ezrom Howard Mandlakayise (OEHM) Nxumalo, and others.
